For the last few weeks, many teachers started requesting changes to our report cards, especially since for many teachers the first quarter ends soon, and parent-teacher conferences begin this week. The new changes include:
- Final grade comments
- Attendance Totals
- Show Standards, Super Standards, and Assignments
- Signature Line
- Standards Key
- Convert All Letter Grades to Standards Based Effort Grades
If you have not tried out the new report card, head over to the Reports module, enter a Title (e.g. Progress Report Card) and choose Type: Report Card. Next, choose a Class (which will be used for selecting students, attendance totals, and final grade comments), and click Continue >. Next you will be presented with various options, explained below:
- Type: Final Grade Only is for generating a Report Card without any details (just the final grades for each class/subject). Use Final Grade, With Details for generating a Report Card with details, such as attendance totals, standards, super-standards, and assignments.
- Content: (Only displays if Type: Final Grade, With Details). Use the check-boxes to select content to display on the report card. Content includes Attendance, Assignments, Super-Standards, and Standards.
- School Name: (excludes GPA Network). Enter your school’s name to display on the report card.
- Options: Use the check-boxes to select if the Signature Line and Comments should be displayed on the report card.
- Final Grade: Choose Letter Grade to use the default grade calculation method (A, B, C, D, F). Choose Effort/Number Grade if you want to base the Final Grade off of Standards. NOTE: You must align assignments with standards to calculate the Effort/Number Grade.
- Standards Based Grades: Check the appropriate check-boxes, depending on your needs. Uncheck Show Modifiers if you do not want the effort grades to contain modifiers such as (= and -). Check Show Standards Key if you would like to customize the effort grades or provide a legend/key. If you check Convert All Letter Grades to Effort Grades, all letter grades will be converted to the appropriate effort grades.
- Standards Key: (Only displays if Show Standards Key is checked). Use the text boxes to customize the effort grades, and provide a legend for your parents to help understand the effort grades.
Let us know your comments, suggestions, and feedback on the new report card. Remember, we’re here to help you easily manage your classroom.
